Odessa, Lakeview Ranch

Odessa / Lakeview Ranch BLM owned land and no fee’s or permits are needed to camp here. This camp had stalls, corrals, picnic tables, fire pit, chemical toilet, horse water and good spring weather. Keep it clean and leave a good impression. (ask the caretaker where to put the manure) The riding is great and the weather even better. We saw pheasant, coyote and deer, lots of deer and Great Horned Owls in the treetops. Lots of song birds. We were here in April when most of the lakes are dry but BLM has a few tanks at the natural springs for horses and cattle and wildlife to drink from. Very very nice. Directions are on the map.

Odessa_camp Odessa_corral

This camp was awesome in that it had people water, a chemical toilet, a big corral with gates for 7 smaller corrals and a long barn with several stalls. BlM has no fee’s. Leave it clean and raked up as others use this camp also.

Odessa waterhole provided

BLM has provided a few spring fed water tanks for stock and wildlife.

Odessa tiny bridge for people

Crossing a dry lake we encountered a tiny people bridge.
