Mt. Adams Horse Camp

Mt. Adams Horse Camp off Hwy.141 is in the Trout Lake area in south WA. It provides ‘easy trails’ for all riders of any level of experience. The camp was never crowded with more than two other campers in the ten days we were there mapping it. We didn’t find any ‘scary’ trails. The high trails have the views and cold water creeks with snow patches laying about like scattered diapers. We saw deer and coyotes as both were near the camp area. There is a water tub in the meadow powered by the sun for horse water. Bring your own drinking water. Beautiful area to relax in.. Bring your hand pruners to help keep the trails trim’d. Remember to get the manure to the BACK of the bin.

Golden Age Passport cuts the price to 2.50 a night for two units in a space. Even at $5.00 a day, the area is worth quiet and camaraderie of the few who came to the camp.

Entering the Black Forest. (old forest fire)

The water just boiled up out of the ground and quickly became a thunderous creek to build the White Salmon River. Pretty cool site, follow your ears.
