Ken Wilcox Horse Camp at Haney Meadow

Haney Meadow / Ken Wilcox Horse Camp. One of the largest undertakings we’ve done was to map this area. (the other was Les Hilde) The trails are the BEST because they are color coded and coincide with present trail markers. Most trails are with adjoining trail numbers placed by the forest service. This area is above Blewett Pass off highway 97 and boasts views and rock formations that jet out of the earth. The bull elk in Haney Meadow in the evening test each others strength, a site to behold. This is high country, bring lots of film and extra batteries and mountain gear.
There is another way to get up here from Ellensburg, check it out.
I heard it was paved most of the way

A small herd of elk eating on the hillside.

I think everyone takes this picture when they see it. Its just beautiful. The rocks flow into the valley from the hillside.

A rocky trail leads you to this lake that actually has fish in it.

The rock out-cropings found around the area are screaming for adventure. I loved riding around the big rocks! Lots of lunch spots with little meadows in between. the rocks to have lunch at.
